About Alpha

Welcome to Alpha, a community-focused program offered by Turning Point Church of Galveston. At Grace Church Frisco, we are passionate about helping people explore the foundations of the Christian faith. Alpha is a series of interactive sessions where you can freely discuss life's biggest questions, delve into the teachings of Jesus, and connect with others on this faith journey.

What to Expect

During our Alpha program, we create a warm and welcoming environment for participants to engage in open discussions. Each session includes a shared meal, a short film on various faith-related topics, and small group discussions. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, share your thoughts, and hear different perspectives from others on the same journey as you.

The Alpha Course

The Alpha course consists of 11 sessions that cover different aspects of the Christian faith. These sessions are designed to encourage curiosity, foster understanding, and build relationships within the group.

Session 1: Is There More to Life Than This?

Begin your Alpha journey by exploring questions such as the purpose and meaning of life, the existence of God, and whether there is more beyond the physical world we see.

Session 2: Who is Jesus?

Discover the historical and spiritual significance of Jesus. Explore Jesus' life, teachings, and the impact He has had on people throughout history.

Session 3: Why Did Jesus Die?

Gain understanding about the purpose of Jesus' death and the significance of His sacrifice. Explore the concept of redemption and its relevance to our lives.

Session 4: How Can I Have Faith?

Dive deeper into the topic of faith and explore how it can be relevant in today's world. Discover the relationship between faith, doubt, and personal transformation.

Session 5: Why and How Do I Pray?

Explore the power and purpose of prayer. Learn about different prayer techniques, discover the importance of prayer in developing a relationship with God, and explore the role of prayer in our lives.

Session 6: How Does God Guide Us?

Discuss the concept of guidance and how we can seek and discern God's voice in our lives. Explore the different ways God communicates with us and guides us along our path.

Session 7: How Can I Resist Evil?

Examine the reality of evil in the world and discover practical ways to resist it. Explore the biblical teachings on spiritual warfare, temptation, and the power of God's love and truth.

Session 8: Why and How Should I Tell Others?

Discover the importance of sharing your faith with others and learn practical ways to communicate your beliefs effectively and lovingly. Explore different approaches to sharing the good news of Jesus.

Session 9: Does God Heal Today?

Explore the topic of divine healing and the role it plays in the Christian faith. Discuss different perspectives on healing, share personal experiences, and learn how to pray for healing.

Session 10: What About the Church?

Explore the significance of the Church in the Christian faith and its role in community and fellowship. Discuss different views on church traditions, roles, and the importance of belonging to a faith community.

Session 11: How Can I Make the Most of the Rest of My Life?

Discover practical ways to live out your faith and make a positive impact in the world. Explore the true meaning of discipleship and how to continue growing in your relationship with Jesus beyond the Alpha course.
